What You Will Do:
In this full-time casual position of Technician Trainee, Distribution Operations, you will play an essential role within our Operations workgroup. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Efficiently operating and maintaining natural gas pipeline systems
Ensuring all required documentation is completed on time as required by regulations
Responding to natural gas related emergencies
Performing construction tasks as per policies and procedures
Representing the Company to customers and the public
What You Will Bring:
Required qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Gas Utilities Operator course
Three years in a related field, of which one year involves performing the operations functions of a natural gas utility
Valid Province of Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
A clean driver’s abstract is also required for this position
Ability to perform all necessary physical requirements
The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 minutes driving time from our Southeast (Dunmore) District Office to respond to natural gas related emergencies.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
• Mechanical aptitude and dexterity when using tools, equipment, and instruments
• Good communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic
• Ability to establish good working relationships and provide excellent customer service
• Proficiency working with various computer software systems including Microsoft Office suite
• Good judgment and maintain motivation and performance when working independently
• Safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations
